Pelayanan Diakonia terhadap Lansia dalam Gereja Lokal: Evaluasi Teologis dan Hostoris Berdasarkan Matius 25:35-46

This article examines elderly ministry within the context of the local church using a pure literature approach based on the IMRAD structure. The central focus is to evaluate both the social and spiritual services provided to the elderly, rooted in the biblical foundation of Matthew 25:35-46, and to explore theological contributions, cultural mandates, and the mission of the church across various traditions (Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, and Pentecostal). The study reveals that while elderly care is often viewed as ordinary diaconal work, it theologically represents a concrete expression of transformative Christian faith. A historical and interdenominational comparison shows the development and challenges of elderly ministry in the modern era. The novelty of this article lies in integrating biblical-theological perspectives with contextual cross-tradition analysis, as well as advocating for renewed models of elderly church ministry. It concludes that the church must shift its service paradigm from merely charitable acts to empowering and participatory spiritual formation, in alignment with the Gospel values and the church’s marturia today.
Artikel ini mengkaji pelayanan lansia dalam konteks gereja lokal melalui pendekatan literatur murni. Fokus utama adalah mengevaluasi pelayanan sosial dan rohani terhadap lansia dengan menggunakan Matius 25:35–46 sebagai dasar biblika, serta menelaah kontribusi teologis, mandat budaya, dan misi gereja dari berbagai tradisi (Katolik, Ortodoks, Protestan, dan Pantekosta). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun pelayanan lansia sering dianggap sebagai tugas diakonia biasa, secara teologis pelayanan ini mencerminkan tindakan nyata iman Kristen yang transformatif. Tinjauan historis dan perbandingan lintas denominasi memperlihatkan perkembangan dan tantangan pelayanan kepada lansia di era modern. Kebaruan artikel ini terletak pada integrasi pendekatan biblika-teologis dengan studi kontekstual lintas tradisi, serta dorongan pembaruan model pelayanan gereja terhadap lansia. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa gereja perlu memperluas paradigma pelayanannya dari sekadar karitatif menjadi pembinaan yang memberdayakan dan partisipatif, sejalan dengan nilai-nilai Injil dan marturia gereja masa kini.
